Jorge Barragan

Chief Program Officer

Jorge is IYF´s Chief Program Officer. He is based in IYF’s Mexico Office. With 15 years of experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of labor market solutions in Mexico and Latin America, he previously served as the Director of the National Public Employment Service where he led the creation of the Mexican Labor Observatory as well as the most recent iterations of the online employment portal. A member of the Advisory Group to the Business Coordinating Council´s Education Commission, Jorge has taught at both the Iberoamerican University—where he also graduated with a degree in Political Science and Public Administration—and the National Public Administration Institute’s post graduate program in Public Agency Administration. He has published numerous studies on youth employment, skills gaps in strategic sectors, and employment policies as a violence prevention strategy.
