Where We Work: Brazil
Having worked here with more than a dozen international donors since 2000, we established ourselves as an experienced and trusted partner for positive youth development, particularly youth employability, in Brazil.
For example, through long-time local partner Instituto Aliança, we began what is now the Walmart Social Retail Training Program. Through initiatives such as entra21 (2001-2011), New Employment Opportunities (NEO) (2012-2018) and more recently EquipYouth (2012-present), we've been preparing young men and women—especially underserved youth—with critical in-demand job and life skills. To reach the most young people as effectively as possible, we’re focused on strengthening how our local partners serve youth: we build their capacity based on proven methods and best practices. In addition to the YouthActionNet® Laureate Global Fellows who hail from Brazil, the country also celebrates and supports youth social entrepreneurship through three YouthActionNet® national institutes. Brazil is among the countries studied in the inaugural Global Youth Wellbeing Index.
