Where We Work: Senegal
Our work advancing young people’s well-being in Senegal started in 2007.
We expanded our reach and diversified our impact by leveraging a variety of approaches in fields as diverse as family planning, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and information and communications technology (ICT). Our capacity building efforts helped local partners improve how they serve youth long-term. Through YouthMap, we worked with local NGO Synapse Center to connect Senegalese youth with life skills through Passport to Success® training, prepare them for self-employment in agriculture, and connect them with service learning opportunities. In addition to being home to YouthActionNet® Laureate Global Fellows, Senegal hosted a YouthActionNet® regional institute that brought together and empowered young social entrepreneurs from across Francophone Africa.
