Tanzania
We’ve been equipping young Tanzanians with HIV to make healthier choices and access services, enabling teachers across the country to do their jobs more effectively, improving access to technology in classrooms, and helping the government establish national quality standards. In 2016, we partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to drive sustainable change in the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and entrepreneurship systems through the Via: Pathways to Work initiative. Youth Speak, a youth engagement project, complemented the Via program to deepen our understanding of Via participants in Tanzania and to provide youth with meaningful platforms to engage with each other and the program (learn more on the Youth Speak website). As part of Tanzanian Youth Scholars, we connected orphans and vulnerable children with scholarships and job training in the technical vocational education and training (TVET) system. Working with international and local partners, we’ve supported initiatives that have changed more than 120,000 lives in the country.
