Where We Work: Uganda
Uganda has served as a hub for IYF activity in East Africa.
Here, we completed on-the-ground research, including the Global Youth Wellbeing Index, and built lasting partnerships with and among local government ministries and employers—in banking and nonprofits, for example. We helped young people like Beatrice, Rebecca, and Nicholas learn new workplace skills, and then leveraged our partnerships to help them secure internships and jobs. For Ugandan youth seeking self-employment, we led extensive entrepreneurship training using our Build Your Business (BYB) curriculum. Uganda is also home to YouthActionNet® Laureate Global Fellows and a YouthActionNet® regional institute that has organized an annual social entrepreneurship fellowship for Anglophone Africa.
