Where We Work: Venezuela
We started our work in Venezuela in 2001, through entra21.
This regional initiative built local partners’ capacity to offer youth job training. Emphasizing technical training in information and communications technology (ICT), this education for employability helped the majority of Venezuelan graduates secure jobs. We continued supporting youth workforce entry here under Make a Connection. Participating young people learned critical job and life skills, completed internships, and received job placement assistance. Along the way, we shared what we learned from these initiatives with the youth development community, from best practices for recruiting and screen program participants to working with employers to provide meaningful internships.
