Global Fund for Youth Development
Beginning in 1999, the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation invested more than $US17 million in the Global Fund for Youth Development (GFYD) to promote education reform, teacher training, employment skills, and entrepreneurship. GFYD directly benefited more than 600,000 youth its first six years. Employee engagement through volunteering played a key role in GFYD and the IYF-Alcatel-Lucent Foundation partnership.
