Supported by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, Next Generation will deliver a demand-driven workforce readiness program to students enrolled in information technology (IT) at technical community colleges in the Jakarta metro area of Indonesia. While IT is a growing field in the country, employers report a gap between the skills they seek and those graduates possess. To make them more competitive, participants will receive supplementary, in-demand training on modules such as JavaScript, HTML, and Android mobile apps and life skills training through Passport to Success®. Next Generation participants will receive job placement support in the form of individual career coaching and resume writing and interviewing technique practice. Within three months of completion, placement rates for Next Generation participants are expected to be more than triple that of the traditional average for graduates of these schools.
