Takunda (2020-present)
The goal of the USAID Takunda activity is achieving sustainable, equitable, and resilient food, nutrition, and income security for over 300,000 vulnerable household members in Zimbabwe’s Masvingo and Manicaland provinces.
As part of the consortium led by CARE and made possible with the generous support of the American people, IYF will oversee the youth engagement, inclusion, and empowerment components that crosscut the project’s three purposes of increasing households’ gender-equitable income, nutritional status, and resilience to shocks and stressors.
This represents an exciting opportunity to mainstream positive youth development approaches in a development food security activity to promote sustainable livelihoods and community resilience while addressing the root causes of food insecurity.
