TalenTICs (2017-2018)
With support from FedEx, the TalenTICs intiative launched in 2017 to prepare young men and women in Mexico with in-demand skills that help them start careers in the growth field of logistics, which offers promising earning potential. After analyzing job vacancies and current demand for entry-level technicians, the initiative is enrolling current CONALEP students and recent graduates, ages 17 to 20, in Mexico City. TalenTICS takes a sector-wide approach, offering a new training curriculum that responds to the specific skills required by the logistics industry in a way that is accessible to young people. Participants will learn about logistics and supply chain management and, using IYF’s proven Passport to Success® curriculum, acquire critical life skills such as time management and responsibility. Participants will also receive job placement services, and they will join an online candidate database that is making it easier for employers in Mexico to find these qualified workers.
