Tunisia Works

Launched in 2012 with the support of the US Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative, this two-year program built the capacity of Tunisian organizations and institutions to improve youth employment prospects. By bringing together stakeholders from the public, private, and civil society sectors—including youth themselves—the initiative increased cooperation among partner organizations and local government. Tunisia Works offered employability, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement training and support to unemployed youth and aspiring entrepreneurs in Beja, Bizerte, Jendouba, and Tunis. More than 4,500 youth benefited from employability or entrepreneurship training, placement in internships or jobs, and assistance in starting their own businesses.
