POSITION LOCATION

PURPOSE OF INTERNSHIP
Under the dual supervision of the Award Management Unit (AMU) and Global Finance and Administration (GFAM), the intern will support the systematization of IYF financial and compliance tools and update the multiple platforms used for managing financial and administrative data.

The intern will carry out three main projects focused on 1) systemizing subgrantee and consultant applications, 2) developing a standardized international cost catalog tool and 3) update multiple administrative tools and platforms used for administering data.

EXPECTED TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Review and update application documents to align with IYF principles and core values;
  • Facilitate reviews of application documents with Finance and Compliance teams;
  • Update online financial platform to systemize external applications;
  • Conduct an internal control audit on multiple financial and administrative platforms, filing systems and schedules to detect missing or outdated data;
  • Present findings and launch the new systemized application;
  • Develop an international cost catalog tool;
  • Conduct other tasks, as needed.

REQUESTED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fast learner
  • Fluency in English required, fluency in Spanish or French is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of financial management, administration and internal controls.
  • Commitment to youth development
  • Ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment
  • High adaptability navigating online data management platforms. Adaptive Insights, Blackbaud Grant Making and SharePoint/Teams is a plus.
  • Good sense of humor

DURATION AND HOURS
Start date: October 2021
Duration: 6 to 10 weeks
Hours: 12-20 hours a week
Pay: $16/undergraduate students, $20/graduate students
