In April 2024, Alexis Jones joined IYF as the Staff Accountant for the iFAAM department. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA, she recently relocated to Maryland to be closer to family. From early childhood to adolescence, Alexis was actively involved in her local Boys and Girls Club, where she developed a strong sense of community and leadership, forging lifelong friendships along the way. Prior to joining IYF, Alexis gained over two years of experience in operations finance as a Cost Accountant. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia State University. Throughout her undergraduate years and beyond, Alexis remained dedicated to her passion for community service and mentorship. She took on leadership roles in organizations such as the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and the Betterment of Brothers and Sisters. These experiences not only enhanced her academic and professional development but also provided invaluable opportunities for networking, community service, and mentorship. IYF’s mission, centered on connecting young people with opportunities to transform their lives, deeply resonates with Alexis's core values, particularly her desire to effect positive change. She is committed to supporting an organization that empowers young individuals and fosters employee growth and success. Alexis was drawn to IYF's dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion, which motivated her to embark on this new journey with the team. As the Staff Accountant, she is eager to utilize her accounting skills to contribute to executing IYF’s mission while advancing her career.
