Andrea joined IYF in 2012 as part of the Youth: Work Mexico program, a USAID funded initiative aimed to address challenges youth faced in some of the country's most violent and crime-ridden communities such as her hometown Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. At IYF, she has since worked on education, system change, and workforce development programs to increase access to better opportunities for in-school and out-of-school youth in Latin America. She has gained extensive experience collaborating with domestic and international organizations and has been part of several projects targeting a wide range of youth development topics such as positive youth development, life skills, opportunity youth, education, and training, employment, mentoring, inclusion, among others. Prior to joining IYF, Andrea was a passionate volunteer in various NGOs, which led her to pursue a career in the international development field. She earned an M.A. in Humanistic Studies (concentration in Ethics) from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) and holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the same institution.
