Ashleigh Gilley is the Digital Coordinator for IYF’s Digital Development Team. Prior to taking the leap into the nonprofit sector, Ashleigh had a robust ten-year career in secondary education. As an educator, she motivated learners in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities while discovering what genuinely inspires them. It was her earnest goal to create a stimulating learning community that encourages students to find their own voice and formulate ideas and opinions that reflect their beliefs. Through these efforts she witnessed students become empowered and realize the capacity of their potential to achieve. The transition into nonprofit work came with the opportunity to work as the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO of Let’s Breakthrough Inc.-US, whose mission was to promote the safety & well-being of Black and Indigenous women, girls, and gender-expansive people through storytelling with the use media and pop culture. Ashleigh is a two-time graduate from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in English Language Literature and a M.A.T in Secondary Education English. She and her husband have 3 small children and live in their hometown of Columbia SC.
