Mahmuda brings her extensive expertise as a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Specialist to IYF, joining as the Senior Technical Advisor for Gender in the PROPEL project. With a rich 15-year background at USAID, Mahmuda began as the mission's gender advisor, later expanding her role to encompass donor coordination and liaison with the Bangladeshi government. Her dedication to gender equality shines through her multifaceted contributions, including managing cross-sectoral gender analysis contracts and co-chairing the Local Consultative Group on Women's Advancement and Gender Equality for three years.
Beyond USAID, Mahmuda has played vital roles in organizations like DFID Bangladesh, UNFPA, and BRAC's Research and Evaluation Division, accumulating a wealth of experience in program management, gender audits, participatory appraisals, and capacity building. Her involvement in international networks like Women Health Together for Future (WHTF) and Share Net International demonstrates her commitment to global collaboration. Mahmuda's academic qualifications include a master's degree in Gender and Development from the University of Sussex, UK, and a master's degree in economics from Dhaka University.
