Matthew joined IYF in 2017 as a Web Writer, then moved into the role of Lead Content & Communications Strategist. Now, as IYF's Director of Global Communications, Matt works across teams, departments, and country offices to grow IYF’s global communication and storytelling culture to serve IYF’s mission. Before joining IYF, Matt was a working poet and writer and a university creative writing professor. In 2015, he left academia to become Global Content Designer for Bridge International Academies. Matt holds several degrees—a BA in philosophy, an MFA in creative writing, an MA in modern literature, and a PhD in English. When he’s not telling IYF’s story and helping elevate the voices of young people, he continues to write and publish fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.
