Program Officer Ethiopia
Before joining IYF, I worked with local and international NGOs and government institutions. I was a clinician in a rural public health clinic in the Southern region of Ethiopia, and my work experience in the development sector has focused on adolescence and youth groups, including orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and other at-risk youth populations. For four years, I was part of a development project working to combat harmful traditional practices (HTP), particularly female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage (CM), and teenage pregnancy in the Amhara and Afar regions of Ethiopia. I earned a Master of Public Health degree from Jimma University. Currently, I am program officer in IYF Ethiopia team, working with the Kefeta youth program.
