Patricia joined IYF in 2016 as a program coordinator supporting programs in the Americas. In that role, she supported management, implementation, and M&E for career readiness programs across Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining IYF, Patricia worked at Johns Hopkins International as a medical interpreter for Limited English Proficiency patients, facilitating communication between patients and providers, as well as providing training to providers on cultural competence and to patients on navigating healthcare systems. She has additional experience as a professional photographer, having completed an undergraduate degree in photojournalism in addition to working in portraiture, wedding, and commercial photography. She completed a capstone in Lima, Peru, focusing on Andean identity among youth in the sprawling capital. She then decided to complete an M.A. in Intercultural Communication with a focus on education and training, which in turn led her to pursue a career in international development. Patricia is also a linguaphile and is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Russian.
