Shambel Worku joined IYF in 2022 as the Entrepreneurship Technical Advisor for IYF's Ethiopia Office. He holds a BA in economics and an M.Sc in agricultural economics from Haramay University. For nearly 16 years, Shambel worked for CARE Ethiopia in a variety of positions including project manager, team leader, livelihood specialist, project officer, and youth advisor. He also worked at Save the Children as a youth program manager, and has managed and coordinated projects funded by USAID, CIDA, and the EU, among others. Shambel has extensive research, training, and management experience in areas including youth employment, youth engagement, workforce development, livelihoods, food security, agriculture and agribusiness, market and value chain, disaster risk management, emergency operations, and organizational capacity building.
