Press Release: International Youth Foundation President and CEO Susan Reichle to Depart in Spring 2024 After Transformative Stewardship

[BALTIMORE, MD] – The International Youth Foundation (IYF) announces the planned departure of its President and CEO, Susan Reichle, after seven years of transformative leadership. Susan will remain with IYF until a new President and CEO is appointed, with the anticipated completion of the transition by spring 2024. Susan leaves behind a legacy of standing alongside and advocating for young people, driving innovation, and advancing locally led development.

"Leading IYF has been an incredible honor, and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together in transforming the lives of young people worldwide," said Susan Reichle.

Since her appointment as President and CEO, Susan has spearheaded the revitalization of IYF’s mission, vision, and values. Under her leadership, the organization developed and implemented a new strategic plan—Transformation 2025—emphasizing youth-led and locally-led approaches. This visionary strategy centers around three integrated objectives of unlocking youth agency, connecting young people to economic opportunities and systems change. Over the course of the strategy, Susan has also been a driving force behind IYF's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by diversifying IYF’s executive and senior leadership teams and leading the design of the pivotal Gender Equity and Social Inclusion policy to advance progress internally and externally.

The IYF Board of Directors expresses its gratitude for Susan's commitment and leadership, as well as her focus on impact as highlighted in the recent IYF 2023 Impact Report, “Catalyzing Change,” and is actively engaged in the search for a new President and CEO. Susan will collaborate closely with the Board and the leadership team during this transitional period to ensure a smooth and seamless handover.

"We are immensely appreciative of Susan's leadership during her tenure at IYF. Her vision and dedication have been instrumental in the organization's growth and success," said IYF Board Chair Joseph M. Matalon, Chairman of ICD Group Holdings. "The Board is committed to selecting a successor who will build on this momentum and guide IYF into its next phase of impact."

As IYF embarks on the search for its new President and CEO, the review of candidates will commence immediately. Applications (resume), inquiries, and nominations are welcome and can be sent to [email protected]. Please click here to view the full position specification.
