Through Google Career Certificates, IYF aims to enhance the technical skills of young individuals aged 16 to 29, focusing on 90% of them being women. The primary objective is to prepare these youths for promising and strategic career paths within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry across various states in Southeastern Mexico and El Salvador.
In Mexico, the initiative achieved success by not only enhancing technical skills but also fostering socio-emotional development through the implementation of the 'Passport to Success®' life skills curriculum. Additionally, the program provided proven labor market transition workshops, wraparound services, and engagement strategies, benefiting 773 youths. The ultimate goal was to establish sustainable support networks, mentorship opportunities, reference systems, job strategies, and a career guidance curriculum tailored to empower young women and support their growth in the ICT sector.
For El Salvador, IYF collaborated with the Agape Association to offer socio-emotional skills training through the "My Career My Future" methodology, along with employability support. This concerted effort served 330 young individuals in securing employment within the ICT sector.
The program closes with 1103 participants and a 76.5% completion rate.
