InteligencIA
The InteligencIA Program is implemented by the International Youth Foundation (IYF) with the support of Google.org, aims to empower marginalized youth and public servants in Mexico through enhanced digital skills, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). Targeting 60,000 end beneficiaries, the program prioritizes inclusivity by seeking 50% female participation, aspiring to increase this to 60%. It focuses on youth aged 14-29 and public servants aged 18 and older, all from low-income backgrounds. This initiative spans at least eight states, particularly in the Southern region of Mexico.
The core objective is to bridge the digital divide and improve economic mobility by providing participants with essential skills to utilize emerging AI technologies. This training includes the Google AI Essentials certificate for marginalized youth and AI Fundamentals for public servants, ensuring broad access to digital upskilling.
The program will unfold in a series of integrated activities aimed at achieving specific outcomes. The initial phase includes partner mapping and deploying the AI Essentials pilot cohort, targeting the enrollment of 8,000 end beneficiaries, with a goal of achieving a 70% completion rate (aspiring to reach 80%). Participants will be surveyed to gauge their confidence in using AI, with expectations that 80% of youth and 75% of public servants will find the training beneficial.
Following this, the implementation plan will be adjusted based on feedback, leading to the operation of a full program where an additional 22,000 end beneficiaries will enroll in the AI Essentials course and 190 in the AI Fundamentals course. Continuous enrollment will ensure robust participation, striving for similar completion rates and outcomes.
By the end of the program, IYF aims to enhance digital literacy among participants and foster lasting interest in further training in AI, with 75% of graduates expressing a desire to continue their education in this vital field. This initiative represents a significant step toward equipping marginalized communities in Mexico with the tools needed to thrive in a digital economy.
