From 2008 to 2010, Samsung Real Dreams empowered African youth with the opportunities, tools, and training to realize brighter futures. Working with local NGOs in four countries, the initiative cultivated the technical, business, and soft skills of young entrepreneurs as well as new entrants into the labor market. Young participants learned job skills including computer literacy, web design, information and communications technology, and office management. Additional job placement and enterprise development services helped participants turn their new skills into viable employment. More than 60 percent of graduates found or created a job within six months, and at least three-quarters reported earning more income as a result of participation. In Kenya, graduates were earning more than three times the national minimum wage.
