This initiative provided grants to young social entrepreneurs who participated in our YouthActionNet® program. From 2008 to 2013, 90 youth-led social innovations in 32 countries received this financial support, which ranged from US$5,000 to $10,000 per person. Together, a committee comprised of our staff and Starbucks partners (employees) selected the final grant recipients. They used the awards for diverse ends around the world, including strengthening the livelihoods of war-affected youth in Liberia, providing micro-credit support to low-income entrepreneurs in Brazil, and training youth to mentor children at-risk in India. All together, these grants benefited more than 96,600 lives.
