Zangar: Year 5 Annual Report (Final Report)

This report presents findings and outcomes from the Zangar initiative. Launched in 2015 with partner Chevron, this five-year, community-driven initiative equipped young men and women in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan with skills and support to find and keep jobs. The initiative had two key strategies: creating an environment supportive of youth learning and professional skill-building and expanding programming for life skills and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. Having identified life skills as one of the major employability and social needs of young people here, Zangar incorporated IYF's proven Passport to Success® curriculum. Practical and engaging STEM training prepared youth with market-relevant skills. Ultimately, the initiative boosted youth inclusion and civic engagement.
