United States Consul General (Retired)Leonard Hill retired from the U.S. Foreign Service in 2008. During a career spent mostly overseas he worked on political and economic affairs, and as consul general and deputy chief of mission in West Africa, South and Southeast Asia, at NATO Headquarters, in Canada and in Central America. After leaving the Foreign Service, Leonard and his wife Cathy Stevulak founded Kantha Productions and produced a documentary film, Threads, about Bangladeshi artist and social entrepreneur Surayia Rahman. Leonard has also continued to assist the State Department since retirement, working regularly on short-term assignments in Central Asia and North Africa. Leonard is a graduate of Georgetown University and has a master’s degree from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. He and Cathy live in the Seattle, Washington area.
