Building Workforce Pathways for Returned Migrants

Crossing the border is only half the journey. For many returned migrants in Mexico, the real challenge begins when they try to rebuild their lives at home. Reconnecting with a local community and finding stable work that matches your skills shouldn’t be an uphill battle.
That is why IYF teamed up with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to listen directly to returned migrants. We wanted to look past the headlines and understand the actual barriers standing in the way of economic stability. More importantly, we wanted to look at how young people in this population can turn their unique skills into real opportunities back home.
We are pulling back the curtain on what we learned—and what it means for employers, communities, and institutions—in a live virtual discussion this November.
