Aligning Workforce to Industry Demand

Building partnerships between employers and education systems.

IYF helps schools and businesses work hand-in-hand to ensure training reflects actual workforce demand. By analyzing local labor markets, we identify emerging industries and skills gaps, bringing leaders together to translate those insights into practical curricula. We embed these pathways directly into existing education systems so young people graduate with the skills employers are hiring for. From aerospace development to logistics, trade, and energy efficiency, IYF has a track record of building connections across twelve economic sectors.

High Gear

Delivered in partnership with NAACAM, DHET, and industry leaders in South Africa, High Gear bridges the gap between Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and the competitive automotive sector. By modernizing engineering curricula, providing lecturer industry placements, expanding work-integrated learning, and pioneering an EV Competency Framework, the initiative has transformed national training systems. Surpassing its targets, High Gear has trained nearly 3,000 students—nearly half of whom are women—driven systemic reforms, and equipped a future-ready workforce for long-term economic success.

Jóvenes con Entrega

This initiative, funded by FedEx, transforms logistics and supply-chain education across Mexico, El Salvador, and Colombia. By embedding industry-led training—covering automation, sustainability, and IYF’s signature Passport to Success life skills—directly into vocational systems, the program has graduated over 34,000 young people. Together, IYF and FedEx are bridging critical skills gaps, expanding hands-on internships, and building a diverse, future-ready talent pipeline for a rapidly evolving sector.
