Program Description

Conectad@s IT helped bridge the gap between young people and growing opportunities in the technology sector by combining in-demand technical training with career guidance, life skills development, and employment support. Across participating countries, the program expanded access to market-relevant IT skills, with a particular focus on creating pathways for young women and other young people who face barriers to entering the technology workforce. Participants worked toward a recognized Google certificate while also building the confidence, professional skills, and job-search capabilities needed to pursue entry-level IT opportunities. By aligning training with labor market demand and connecting young people to employers and career resources, Conectad@s IT strengthened pathways from learning to employment in an increasingly digital economy.

Change in Action

Participants moved from exploring technology careers to actively preparing for them. They applied new technical and life skills, gained greater clarity about potential career pathways, strengthened their ability to navigate the job market, and began building connections with employers. Through hands-on learning and career preparation, young people were able to take concrete steps toward entering and advancing within the IT sector.

“This program has had such a positive impact on my life, opening up new opportunities and career possibilities. In fact, I was recently promoted at work.”
