Growth Opportunities (GO)
Connecting justice-involved youth to job opportunities.

Program Description
The GO Program engages justice-involved youth in training opportunities that prepare them for the workforce or further education. The program includes four elements:
1. Basic Services: Implementation partners support youth with life skills training and case management to help identify and remove obstacles in their lives that may keep them from succeeding professionally.
2. Paid Work Experience: Participants are offered hands-on job opportunities, where they can apply their skills in real-world settings and build work experience with fair and reasonable compensation.
3. Mentorship & Leadership Development: Youth are partnered with mentors who share similar lived experiences to build trust and foster leadership skills.
4. Educational Opportunities: Enrollees receive ongoing referrals to community colleges, job training programs, and internships that help them further develop their job skills and experience.
This program is funded 100% by a $5.1 million grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)’s Employment and Training Administration, and is implemented in partnership with Connect Ed (a subsidiary of Central New York Health Home Network) and the North Carolina Youth Violence Prevention Center (NC-YVPC).
Change in Action
The GO program has supported 425 justice-involved youth ages 15-25 in New York and North Carolina.
