CYEP Conference – Youth Trends & Challenges in the Caribbean

This event presentation includes the information shared by Ms. Cynthia Hobbs at the Caribbean Youth Empowerment (CYEP) conference “Investing in the Future: Empowering Young People” held in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, on June 25 and 26, 2013.

Ms. Hobbs is Senior Education Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank, and she participated in the “Youth Trends and Challenges in the Caribbean” panel. The panel discussed low educational attainment levels, high levels of unemployment, and a growing violent and insecure environment where they are both the primary perpetrators and victims. They also shared their perspectives on potential solutions.
