Education Aligned to Workforce Needs

The world of work changes fast, and often. To thrive, students need skills that match market demand, relevant experiences, and pathways to employers, jobs, and careers. Panelists from the education and technology sectors shared innovative efforts at the LEAPS learning event, “Strengthening Youth Opportunity in Rural America,” on May 20, 2019.

LEAPS, a 2-year initiative of BHP and the International Youth Foundation creates partnerships with local organizations in West Texas (greater Midland/Odessa area), South Texas (between San Antonio and Victoria), and Northwest Louisiana to equip young people with the skills needed to succeed in school, work, and life and to become more engaged members of their communities.
