Youth Help Youth Get Jobs

Watch as Cristina, a facilitator, and Miriam, a program graduate, share the uniqueness of Youth:Work Mexico‘s youth-to-youth approach. Through this initiative, trained youth serve as facilitators, mentors, and job placement counselors who are able to effectively connect with program beneficiaries as peers.

Launched by IYF and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Youth:Work Mexico (YWM) program set out to equip youth with essential life skills and guide them in finding jobs or going back to school. Over four years, YWM trained more than 2,040 youth, with 44 percent securing jobs and 30 percent returning to school. The program is now being replicated in the cities of Leon and Tijuana under the name Órale.
