Program Description

Launched to address the financial sector’s growing need for qualified entry-level talent, Capital Juvenil connected technical education students with meaningful pathways to employment while helping banking institutions build a stronger and more inclusive workforce. Working alongside Asociación de Bancos de México (ABM), Bécalos and representatives from six of Mexico’s leading banks, IYF developed specialized training focused on the practical and professional skills most sought after for entry-level banking roles.

Beyond classroom learning, participants engaged directly with employers through workplace visits, mentoring sessions with banking professionals, and recruitment events that generated more than 900 job interviews. The program also helped encourage financial institutions to reconsider hiring requirements for entry-level positions, expanding opportunities for graduates of technical education programs.

By strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and the banking sector, the initiative not only exceeded its goals but also helped create lasting systems that connect young people to quality employment opportunities and support the industry’s long-term talent needs.

Change in Action

The curriculum was integrated into more than 20 technical and vocational education campuses across five states, and more than 100 teachers were trained to deliver the program. As a result, over 2,200 young people gained the knowledge, confidence, and career readiness needed to pursue opportunities in an industry that hires approximately 45,000 entry-level employees each year.

“In the young graduates of this program, we are seeing that they have very good averages and prepared profiles. All of them have the required knowledge and skills in banking.”
