Green Generation MX
Bridging gaps by delivering in-demand green energy skills.

Program Description
The Green Generation MX program is driving Mexico’s transition to a sustainable future by equipping public school youth and educators with the skills needed for clean energy careers. Funded by the TK Foundation, IYF has partnered with educational institutions and industry leaders to develop three curricula focused on energy efficiency, electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, and data science that address Mexico’s energy challenges while creating pathways to high-paying, in-demand jobs.
Students at public institutions in Mexico including CONALEP Nuevo León, Universidad Politécnica de Apodaca, Universidad Tecnológica de Puebla, and Universidad Tecnológica del Paso del Norte (UTPN) have the opportunity to dig into these curricula and gain relevant skills for growing green energy careers.
Change in Action
The Green Generation MX program has partnered with 16 education systems to support 15,000 enrolled students (of whom 6,750 are young women). Of 12,000 program graduates, 7,800 are now employed.
“Our partnership with the International Youth Foundation has been invaluable. Through the Green Generation Program, we’ve equipped young people with the critical skills to drive Mexico’s energy transition. The success of this program is a testament to the impact strategic collaborations can have in fostering meaningful, long-lasting change.”
