PROPEL Youth & Gender

Promoting Results and Outcomes through Policy and Economic Levers Youth and Gender (PROPEL Y&G) is a USAID-funded five-year $20 million project awarded to IYF on September 22, 2023. PROPEL Y&G will improve sexual and reproductive health and rights outcomes and advance gender equality outcomes for individuals at all life stages using policy, advocacy, health financing and governance approaches.

PROPEL Y&G envisions a future where adolescents, youth, and people of all genders have the agency, assets, skills and opportunities to exercise their rights and make informed choices about their own sexual and reproductive lives, allowing them to pursue education and economic opportunities to build their futures. The project takes an inclusive systems approach to strengthen the enabling environment and will link with the education and economic growth (e.g., workforce development, economic empowerment) sectors to address social, economic, and political determinants that impact health access and use. Our Core Principles of positive youth development, meaningful youth engagement and inclusion, gender transformative approaches, do no harm, local leadership, accountability, and evidence-based interventions will underpin all our activities and interactions across the global program.
